Sophie started dancing in England at the age of 7 where she trained in the British Ballet Organisation syllabus under the prestigious Mavis Berry.  At 18 she was awarded a full scholarship for her vocational training at Preston Dance College (United Kingdom) where she obtained a Diploma in Dance Education (Ballet and National) as well as a Diploma in Elite Dance Performance. Sophie’s professional credits include ‘Liberace’ and ‘Night Fever’ along with production dancer for 3 years on mega-cruise liners, travelling around the world.

Sophie moved to Melbourne 10 years ago, where she turned all her focus towards ballet.  Firstly completing Advanced 2 in Imperial Classical Ballet I.S.T.D from Cherill Rowston School of Ballet with Distinction.  She then moved on to attain her Licentiate in teaching also with the I.S.T.D.  Sophie has entered over 600 students (male and female)  in ballet examinations in the past 8 years alone from Primary up to Advanced 2.
This year she became a qualified Garuda Pilates Instructor and continues to be trained by Anna Tetlow (Royal Ballet; London City Ballet), as well as teaching R.A.D.

Sophie is a dedicated and loyal ballet teacher with a natural flair for choreography.  When she is not chasing after her 2 young children she is finding new ways to become more proficient in her trade.  The Western Ballet Project marks the beginning of her next professional chapter.
